Wannabe is the first cross media video community dedicated to all those who want to express their talents and dream of being “discovered”. Every “wannabe” can create his or her own video portfolio and photos, which can be managed via Web, WAP or Video portal, associating them with different fields of interest: dance, cinema, theatre, etc.
Each of the video profiles is included in a database, which is open to talent scouts and industry operators. After viewing the database, talent scout or operators send text messages to the best candidates to invite them to participate in the castings in progress.
Wannabe is a reliable resource for anyone with talent who wants to become a celebrity. Through the creation of their video portfolios, candidates can show their ability in one or more disciplines and share professional experiences, dreams and ambitions with the other members of the community. wannabe.tim.it has become a hub and the starting point from which young hopefuls can promote their talent and get in touch with show business and entertainment operators, who draw on Wannabe to find new faces, personalities and video content to incorporate into a huge variety of artistic contexts.
The way it works is very simple: by registering on wannabe.tim.it, which is accessible via the Web portal or TIM cell phones, the user creates his or her Personal Card. This is the identity card of the Wannabe world and contains personal details, a photograph and a presentation video. Users can create their own portfolios, choosing between the available categories: Dance, Music, Fashion, TV, Actors, Comedians/Cabaret, Sport, Videomakers and Crazy & Fun.
They can add new content or create new portfolios at any time, using the Web or a cell phone, via WAP or video call. In order to increase visibility and get noticed by industry operators, every Wannabe has the opportunity to promote himself or herself: it is up to the community to determine the position in the ranking and the popularity rate of the user by voting.
Operators, agencies and talent scouts have the option to carry out extremely specific vertical searches amongst the Wannabes or to select the community’s most popular talents, inviting them to a casting by means of a text message alert. For those who want to find out about news on selections and exclusive opportunities on offer from Wannabe, the Casting section provides all the opportunities to be snapped up in real time.
To support community members “Wannabe World” magazine is updated daily by the editorial team. Information, in-depth reports and content divided into thematic channels, essential reading for all wannabes who want to grow professionally and embark on the road to success.
Registering for the Wannabe service is simple and free. It is also possible to make use of the numerous services made available to the community via mobile phone, by sending text messages, or using the virtual wallet, the user’s personal piggybank on the Web, where each user’s credits are saved, which can be topped up by sending a text message.
