Gabriele Gresta - Venture Partner
Gabriele Gresta is considered worldwide as one of the biggest expert in digital medias and technologies, specialising in viral projects, participative television and new TV formats designed for various digital platforms.
Gabriele Gresta started working at a very young age in software development. By the age of 15, he was already working as a software development director for a multinational company (Alpha Center) and at the age of 16, he developed the first super-learning system. Still in his teenage years, following various technical internships in the UK, US and Australia, he unleashed his musical creativity by participating in the digital revolution brought about by computers with the Mato Grasso digital rap music project, which reached number one on the Italian dance charts. He then moved on to television as a host, author and producer of hit TV programs on national TV channels such as MTV Italy and TMC2. He also presented programs and live events and coordinated the strategies behind Telecom Italia's special event. In 1995, he founded Bibop, a cross-media agency that creates interactive communication events and projects, both online and offline. Bibop managed projects such as the Mediaset portal (Mol), the production of the format "2008" for Italia 1, Futurshow 2002 for Telecom Italia, Tim Tour 2002, and since 2003 the conception and production of Alice Live for Telecom Italia, the first interactive web TV show. In 2004, he founded the Digital Magics Group with Enrico Gasperini. Having gained extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of content production, Gabriele Gresta became the Group’s Chief Content Officer, the strategist behind the Digital Magics product offer. He is specialised in viral projects, participative television and new TV formats designed for various technological platforms. Gabriele Gresta works closely with key Italian and international broadcasters and phone operators (H3G, Telecom, Vodafone, Rai, Sky) on both innovative and successful formats. “Occhio alla spesa” on Rai TV, for instance, is a video-participative format created by Digital Magics. It was the first ever TV show where the audience was able to interact live with a TV presenter via mobile video-phone.
Gabriele Gresta is also the inventor of MyCast, a patented web, mobile and television platform that offers video-participative services to editors (web, Telcos and broadcasters).
