Project 
Fantasy football is a football simulation game that is increasingly popular in Italy. It sees the ideal terrain in which to bring fans together in the opportunity for sharing, participation and the exchange of ideas offered by Web 2.0. Fantaleague is simple and immediate. It is a full and revolutionary version of the game: a mixture of real time and engaging functions that extend to cover everything from the MSN Sports channel to mobile technology, instant messaging, blogs and value-added services and even real time enjoyment of the matches. The site is based on the fundamental rules of fantasy football: before each championship day, each participant must choose his or her first team, including substitutes; and thus based on the performance of each player on the pitch, reaches a total score (each player is assigned a score based on performance, plus various bonuses). The total score thus provides the participant with a position in the overall league table. In order to be the best, participants need to know all the football secrets and to be up to date on all the news regarding the players (fitness, chance of being called up, previous performance)

Fantaleague characteristics:
• Scoring system based on the footballers’ performance index, a quantitative value provided by the relevant source from the national football team experts;
• All statistics relating to Serie A teams and football players are updated in real time;
• Immediate participation tools including Windows Live Messenger, devices (interactive web applications) for Windows Live Spaces and Text messages;
• Exclusive information service that allows live enjoyment of the championship matches via the Web site by means of Webcronache Live;
• Option to create Private Leagues, with reserved access, to be played amongst friends with customised rules;
• The Authority System assigns a Performance Index (PIX) to each football player, guaranteeing truly impartial data and scores that are immediately available at the end of each match.


Results
This project has met with extraordinary success, which is growing by the hour. In the first 3 weeks more than 15,000 people registered, with more than a million pages in just one month.
